Questions Frequently Asked
What happens once the candle has burned down?
The glass remains. Each piece is conceived as a permanent object for the home, designed to continue its life long after the fragrance has faded.
Are all pieces unique?
Each piece is created in Venice in collaboration with a creative studio, a traditional furnace and master glass artisans. Glass, pure silver leaf and coloured enamel are shaped and finished entirely by hand, making every object unique in form and character.
How large are the pieces?
Dimensions and approximate burn times are provided on each product page. As every piece is individually handmade, slight variations may occur.
Where can I find the fragrance notes?
Fragrance notes and details for each identity are provided on the relevant product page.
Why has my wick moved during use?
As the candle burns and the wax softens, the wick may occasionally shift position. Before each use, ensure that the wick remains centred within the vessel and gently reposition it if necessary while the wax is cool. Keeping the wick centred helps promote an even burn and prevents excessive heat from building up against one side of the glass.
Can the glass be used after the wax is gone?
Absolutely. In many ways, that is its true purpose. Once the wax has been removed, the vessel may continue its life however you choose: as a vase, a drinking glass, a decorative object, or simply as part of the home.
How do I remove the remaining wax?
Detailed aftercare instructions are included with every piece. To remove any remaining wax, pour boiling water into the vessel and allow the wax to rise to the surface and solidify. Once removed, gently wash the glass by hand using warm water and mild dish soap.
Are variations in colour and shape normal?
Absolutely. Every piece is individually handmade. Variations in colour, shape and texture are not imperfections but characteristics of the making process, and part of what makes each object unique.
Are the pieces signed?
Yes. Each piece is either hand-signed or bears the Forma Comptus glass emblem on its base.
Are the pieces fragile?
Like all glass objects, Forma Comptus pieces should be handled with care. While intended to be used and enjoyed, they remain handcrafted glass and should be treated accordingly.
